DS

  • OK, let me start by saying that PSP has better graphics. HOWEVER, graphics are NOT everything. 7 PSP
  • Both have surround sound, and a headphone jack DS Lite has a slightly quieter volume than the original, though. 4 BOTH -2 DS Lite
  • Both Have Online Games, but Nintendo Wifi Connection is considered a better, safer, and more developed system that even has in-game online text messaging and Voice IP communications. 1.5 PSP DS 3
  • DS has a microphone that Sony just didn't think of. 1.5 DS
  • DS also has a touch screen - the most revolutionary thing on gaming shelves since a computer mouse. 5 DS
  • DS has MANY Original Games and a few ports (older games moved from an older system to a newer system) The PSP's games mainly consist of sequels and ports. The majority of good PSP games are also racing games, a very limited category, and the sports games aren't as good as they look. 5 DS
  • DS Cartridges are about 1/7 the size of PSP's UMDs 2 DS
  • PSP has an "analog stick", but it is really just a flat circle that you can move around in all directions - NOT a "true" analog stick. 2 PSP
  • DS Has 2 Screens Each half the size of the PSP's 4 DS
  • PSP Has a Wide-screen Resolution that is equal to both of the DS's screens combined 3.5 PSP
  • The DS has a "Clamshell Design" That lets you protect it better. DS Lite has a side loading stylus. 2 DS 2.5 DS LITE EXTRA
  • DS is Smaller and Lighter 2 DS 4 EXTRA DS Lite
  • Scratches and Smudges Show up easier on PSP & DS Lite -2 PSP & DS Lite ONLY
  • The DS's Battery Life is vastly superior to the PSP's. The DS "Original" version has a Battery Life of 6-10 Hours. The DS "Lite" Version has a Battery Life of 6 - 18 Hours Depending on the Brightness settings. 5 DS 3 EXTRA DS Lite 3 PSP (For Brightness Settings)
  • DS Can Play GBA Games (but they stick out of the DS Lite by 1 cm) 5 DS -1.5 DS Lite
  • The PSP's Price Tag is a MAJOR downside. It is $250 for a PSP, while DS/DS Lite Are only $130!!! 5 DS
  • DS has Lots of extra Colors US: Silver, Blue, Red, Teal, and Pink. PSP only has black in The US, and DS Lite only has White in the US -1 PSP & DS Lite
  • PSP can play MP3's and Movies, but, it really just makes the PSP even MORE EXPENSIVE, considering that you either have to:
  1. Buy Movies in a "UMD" format, which is like buying the DVD again with a $5 - $10 discount.
  2. Write it to a "Sony Memory Stick Duo Pro". These memory cards are E-X-P-E-N-S-I-V-E! They are about $10 more than SD Cards. They can be written on via PC; however, many magazines have said it is very difficult to put media on the PSP, Kinda Gimmicky. 5 PSP
  • 路 If you want to put Media on a DS, you can! You need an "Accessory" though. You have to buy a thing called a Flash card AKA Flash cart, which is either an "Adapter" that you can use to read SD, CF, OR Mini-SD Cards, or a "DS Storage Card" with internal memory. Both either plug into the GBA & DS Slot OR just the DS Card slot depending on which you buy, and both let you watch movies, listen to music, or play games or home-made games off of the internet. I suggest The "G6 Flash Card", "M3 Adapter", Or soon to come, "DS-X". So why doesn't everyone have them? They are UNOFFICIAL and ONLY available online 2.5 DS
